These one of a kind collaboration Tea Bowls are fun to make but we take them very seriously. John takes extreme care to make them with attention to detail.  He focuses on each one individually and really does think about the person who will eventually own this cup and use it every day. The lip is important: if it's not just right, it won't feel good to you when you sip your coffee or wine.  My job comes after the cup has dried a bit, when it's still fragile. I start by lining the cups up, deciding which major colors I think belong on each cup, whether I think it wants more color or less, even numbers or odd, wild or calm.  The cups do 'talk' to me before I begin.  Process is important and this is a little insight into ours.
