“I love to take an inert material, clay, and through shape, color and movement -impart life.” - John Dietrich
With a commitment to craftsmanship and high-quality materials, husband-and-wife team John Dietrich and Diane McNeil have been creating handmade ceramic heirlooms from their rural Wisconsin studio since 1974. Ellison Bay Pottery can be found in national and international collections.
Today, they are still passionate about design and make dinnerware, serveware, accents, lighting, and ceramic art, that celebrates the tactile and aesthetic pleasures that come from filling your home with things that cultivate a sense of well-being. Their handcrafted stoneware pottery have been collected for decades by generations as they are both made to last and enjoy every day.
Their distinctive ceramics is created in their studio which is housed in a restored apple barn. All pieces are thrown or hand-built, dried, then bisque-fired, glazed, and fired again. In their studio, John and Diane embrace the perfectly imperfect variations that subtly impart movement, life and individuality.
Ellison Bay Pottery is proud to bring its distinct handcrafted quality and approachable ceramic art to your home and life.
