Celebrate American Craft Week at Ellison Bay Pottery

Celebrate American Craft Week at Ellison Bay Pottery

We're kicking off American Craft Week from Oct. 4 to Oct. 13 with two new events-

1st Event Oct 5 & 12: 'Try It Days'

2nd Event: 'Mug Makeover'

Ever want to throw clay on a potters wheel?  Our 'Try It Day' is for you: We're having a ‘Try It Day' where you can try throwing at the wheel, with a little help from resident potter John Dietrich on two Saturdays  (October 5 and 12)  from noon to 3pm.

Ellison Bay Pottery, retailers and art institutions nationwide in celebration of American Craft Week, will present ‘Try It Day’ on October 5 from noon to 3 in Ellison Bay. Open to the general public at Noon at 12156 Garrett Bay Rd, this American Craft Week event will feature a ‘Try It Day' where anyone can try throwing at the wheel, with resident potter John Dietrich. You can bring in any old coffee cup (imported, mass-produced ceramics, no chips, please) to donate (more about that in a moment) and we'll give you a 20% discount on one of John's hand-thrown Mugs-(Short, Standard and Stein!) and tea bowls
At the end of American Craft Week, we'll box up the mugs and donate them to Bargains Unlimited, a part of Scandia Village. BU has one of the best second hand stores in Northern Door and all the money raised goes to Scandia Village in Sister Bay. #ACW2019 #TRYIT #MUGMAKEOVER
